Weiming Liu was born in Xi'an, China in 1956. Now he is teaching College English & General Linguistics in English at the Department of Foreign Languages & Law, Northwest University of Political Science & Law. He is the Vice-Dean of the Department,  Professor and the member of the International Association of Forensic Linguists(IAFL). 

My Research Fields: Forensic Linguistics, General Linguistics & Teaching Methodology.

Education Background:

He pursued his BA of English language at Xi'an International Studies University from 1979 to 1983. After his graduation, he has been a teacher first at the Teaching & Research Section of Foreign Languages, Xi'an Conservatory of Music from 1983 to 1985, then at the Department of Foreign Languages & Law, Northwest University of Political Science & Law from 1985 to present.

From 1987 to 1988, he studied the courses of postgraduates (MA) in English, such as General Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Language Testing, Teaching Methodology, etc. at the Foreign Languages of Graduate School, Xi'an Jiaotong University, hosted by the Sino-British Cultural Association. From 1996 to 1998, he studied Chinese Civil & Commercial Law at the Law Department of Graduate School, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

Professional Memberships: Member of International Association of Forensic Linguists (IAFL); Member of China Association of Forensic Linguistics (CAFL) 

Weiming Liu used to be a violinist in an orchestra in Xi'an before he studied at colleges & universities, for he began to learn how to play it even when he was a boy, taught by several famous violinists of Xi'an.

Weiming Liu's Desire: He is longing for the opportunity to pursue the study of MA or Ph.D. in linguistics, esp. forensic linguistics or language & the law abroad. Now he is in the PhD program of a European university, studying pragmatics in the aspects of legal language.
